Our Technology

Our Technology

We have worked at the cutting edge of assistive and sensory technology for over 25 years.

With our unique wealth of experience, we have unparalleled knowledge of the opportunities technology can give children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

Children’s palliative care services and the technology sector are evolving all the time. We operate right at the heart of each of them.

No other organisation brings these two worlds together with the clarity and impact we do.

Quite simply, the Lifelites technology package every four years is a lifeline to us! There are no other words to describe what Lifelites gives to the children and families that we have the privilege of caring for here at Little Bridge House.

Technology to Play, Create and Communicate

Eyegaze Innovative and inclusive eye tracking technology

Empowering children to take control and make life-changing connections just by moving their eyes. The ground-breaking Eyegaze is fully portable, enabling children to communicate and play at palliative care services or within the comfort and security of their own homes.

Tilt and Touch Table Inclusive play and creativity

The powerful large multi-touch screen of the Tilt Table allows every child to take control, explore the world, play interactive games, paint and draw. It empowers children to interact with their siblings, learn and play.

PODS Sensory Tents Sensory ‘tents’ with immersive environments

Portable, interactive, and fun, PODS can be used in partner service settings and a child’s own home. Different themes can be easily applied, creating a different environment each time, from play areas to chill-out zones to safe spaces for reducing anxiety.

Magic Carpet Interactive adventure

The mobile Magic Carpet projects moving images onto the floor (or any suitable surface) that children can interact with, opening up a world of immersive play and adventure, often with siblings, from kicking up leaves, popping bubbles, splashing in the sea or even playing football.

Our VR headsets and applications transport young people to a fully immersive world of exciting adventure and interactive play. From exploring beaches and swimming with turtles, to sitting under the Northern Lights or even climbing Everest.

iPads Empowering play and connectivity

Our latest iPad bundle, complete with specialist AAC apps, including augmented reality designed to transport children to other worlds, even from the safety of their hospice bed. It also includes flexi arm and Bluetooth speakers to enhance sensory experiences.

Tech trunks Technology in a child’s own home

The portable tech trunk enables palliative care teams to easily transport the latest assistive and sensory technology into the community, allowing children who cannot attend a partner service the chance to play, create and communicate in their own home.

Wildlife Window Bringing the outside world indoors

Our bespoke motion sensor camera system can be situated on the grounds of a hospice to capture wildlife activity that is relayed to children staying at the service centre, bringing the outside world indoors for children with life-limiting conditions.

We also provide a range of smaller technology items like GoPros and Switch operated toys.

iClick and Switches Providing independence and control

iClick enables children with life-limiting conditions to operate technology and equipment such as computers and household appliances, with any part of their body. It provides children with independence and allows them to take part in activities such as baking.
