In March 2025, Lifelites was featured on ITV Regional News across England, shining a national spotlight on the life-changing impact of our assistive technology for children with life-limiting conditions and the incredible work of our hospice partners.
The news segment highlighted the transformative role of Lifelites’ technology in children’s hospices, including a report from Little Harbour Children’s Hospice in St Austell, Cornwall. Operated by Children’s Hospice South West, Little Harbour is one of the many children’s hospices across the UK where our technology is helping children communicate, play, and connect with the world around them—regardless of their abilities.
Among the featured equipment were the PODS sensory tents, which create immersive and calming environments for children, and the Soundbeam, a touch-free device that turns movement into music and sound. These technologies open up new possibilities for children to engage and express themselves in ways that were once unimaginable.
The report from Little Harbour is just one of many that aired across the country, capturing the powerful stories of how this technology is being used every day in palliative care settings. From sensory play to accessible communication, the ITV features helped to demonstrate how Lifelites’ work is making a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
Great British Bake Off finalist, Dr Josh Smalley joined Habibah at Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice in Maidenhead for a special baking session. Together, they made rainbow cupcakes using iClick switches—adaptive technology that allows Habibah to control kitchen appliances with the touch of a button. With a simple press, she was able to operate mixers and other devices independently, showing how Lifelites’ technology can turn everyday activities like baking into joyful, empowering experiences.
This coverage is part of our wider Lifelites 25 programme, through which we’re supporting 25 new projects over three years, donating cutting-edge technology packages worth up to £25,000 to children’s palliative care services across Britain and Ireland.
Lifelites would like to thank ITV for featuring our technology and the children who use and love it. We would also like to thank our incredible palliative care partners, who give life to our tech by championing it and helping the families they support make the most of every moment.
